Marcelo Cipis

An architect by studies, Marcelo Cipis has been creating illustrations for magazines, newspapers, and books since 1977. He worked at the Contemporary Art Salons of São Paulo in the 1980s, participated in the Berlin-in-São Paulo workshop, at MASP, and at the Berlin Kunsthalle in 1988, the year he held his first solo show at the Documenta gallery in São Paulo. In 1991, Cipis participated in the 21st Bienal de São Paulo. He has exhibited widely around the world, especiallt in his native Brazil, England and Japan.
