Neuroscientist Dr. Kamran Fallahpour employs his formidable background in science--PhD and all--as well as his interest in "what makes us human" to create his introspective sculptures. 'Infinite Gaze', shown here, is a culmination of Kamran's expertise in the human brain as well as his passion for sculpture and forms. Balancing a line between figuration and abstraction, the sculpture exists in a liminal space, like the moment between dream and reality. Redolent of Cubism and German Expressionism in its angularity, jagged structure and emotive likeness, the sculpture is made all the more convincing as a physical manifestation of a human thought given the artist's unique stance as an accomplished scientist devoted to the human brain.
