After almost two decades of creating across mediums, performance became my primary expression, while sculpture became the way to document it. Being born in the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, under the dictatorship, into an interfaith family (Jewish, Christian, Muslim, and Atheist), with contradicting political ideologies, triggered questions about identity from an early age. The experiences of war, emigration, and a nomadic lifestyle, shaped the investigations of my artistic research. The female reality, gender rights, and equality became the main focus of my work. The work results from an amalgamation of personal history, with the diverse cultural traditions that surround me. The tendency is always to go beyond the conceptual and grab the emotions of the audience, participants, and myself.
