Following the Tunisian Revolution, there was a long period of great social, political, and economic instability. Within myself I felt a strong and constant need for calm and security. That’s what brought me to the adoption of a new artistic approach. The white surface of my support has become my safe haven, source of calm and clarity. And painting has become my way to explore slowness, patience, and attention. I sit down in front of my white canvas for a poetic journey and I enjoy the quiet where my spirit sounds in a silent horizon. Here I begin to feel these dynamic impressions in me which gradually acquires substance. Their vibrant strength is ejected out of my body and projected on the support. The image begins to appear little by little, slowly…slowly.  And all the while, the impressions which support it remain in my spirit and fuel it intimately: slowness is the measure of the impressions that persist in my mind after the things that formed them have passed. The image is exhausted, the impressions begin to fade, and the attention remains. And it’s by the attention that things which have not yet become hurry to arrive. I let myself be open to feel the desire which is an intrinsic imagination generator and to feel the tension of all my being looking for the hereafter…The reveries of infinitely small are rooted in the sensitive experience of the being. They hand over the intimacy of beings to us. And here, primitive dreams of intimacy are awake.
